Jenson Button is far from done with sportscar racing in 2023.
The 2009 Formula 1 World Champion is not only making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut, but also in the GTP category, once the 2023 season finale will be run at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Button has signed with JDC-Miller Motorsports, to race in their Porsche 963 together with Mike Rockenfeller and Tijmen van der Helm.
The Brit was part of the Garage56 NASCAR project at Le Mans in June, where the team completed the race with only a few technical issues towards the end of the race.
He was a part of SMP Racing, when they participated in the FIA World Endurance Championship, but only did so for a few races, before dropping out of the project.

He has also been flirting with the NASCAR sport this year, having had three starts so far for the 43 year old racing driver.
Button already knows Rockenfeller, being his teammate at Le Mans this year, where Jimmie Johnson was third driver on the unique racecar.
JDC-Miller Motorsports #5 was the first private Porsche 963 LMDh car in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, when they made their debut WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in May. The team wasn’t able to race from the start of the season, with Porsche not being able to deliver cars to all their costumer teams, which includes two cars at Proton Competition – one for FIA WEC, and one for IMSA, and a car for JOTA in the FIA WEC. JOTA got their car at the same time as JDC-Miller Motorsports, and had a delayed start to their Hypercar season too.
Petit Le Mans will be run on 14 October 2023.
